It’s amazing what my genealogy service (MyHeritage) finds for me without me even asking. It notified me that via their OldNews service it uncovered pertinent family info for me.
This info turned out to be the registration name of our first collie along with sire and dam and breeder names, along with my dad’s name as dog owner. Was NOT expecting that. Our family dog was registered as Cheyenne Break o’ Day sired by Duke of White Hub on Cheyenne Sand Storm.
Well, it is a pedigree linked to my family surname. It found the info in the American Kennel Club Stud Book Register Dec 1956 New York, United States. Now THAT is truly a full service genealogy subscription!
I suppose their AI just assumed that “Stud Book Register” was a legitimate source for furthering one’s genealogy. I can now brag that my paternal line is officially registered in the Stud Book. And that, by implication at least, I’m also officially a son of a bitch.
I can’t stop laughing at this! It truly brightened my day.
